High-Impact Film Conference by IQ to Shine Spotlight on Hungarian Film Industry

Film aficionados and industry insiders are in for a special treat as Budapest prepares to host a conference by the International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers (IQ). The event, scheduled for October 9-10, 2023, promises to be a buzzworthy international conference that gathers some of the most celebrated names in film production, from Golden Globe and Emmy winners to the owners of Europe’s largest advertising firms.

“The organization’s motto is “Trusted filmmakers connecting”, and that’s 100% the case. An in-person conference with this group feels like a family reunion, except you like all your relatives.”, said Balázs Juszt, Hungarian film director, screenwriter, and producer, who will be at the helm as the local host of the conference.

The conference will include public sessions, beginning with the “Shooting Star Soiree” on October 9th at W Budapest Hotel. This star-studded evening allows IQ members to mingle with over 50 acclaimed Hungarian film actors while offering the press opportunities for interviews and photos.

On October 10th, the “Hungarian Film Industry Mixer” will be organized at The Workshop in Budapest. Produced in collaboration with Astra Film Studios and Roe Creative Display, this event will give attendees a chance to meet and converse with internationally recognized Hungarian film producers and directors.

Another highlight is a round-table discussion featuring influential industry experts, including Ildikó Kemény, owner of Pioneer; Adam Goodman, owner of Mid Atlantic Films; and Gábor Rajna, CEO of Astra Film Studios. They will discuss the current state of Hungary‘s film service industry, lessons learned, and future directions.

Eric Baum, CEO of Roe Creative Display, and Gábor Rajna will unveil their ongoing collaborations, spotlighting the latest tech solutions in film production. These discussions offer a rare glimpse into the world of film tech, promising to make the conference an industry milestone.

As we’ve already reported, Academy Award-winning producer Cathy Schulman and Hungarian cultural icon Miklós Szinetár will deliver the opening and closing keynote speeches, adding even more excitement to the event.
