Sandra Bullock has reportedly signed up to join Brad Pitt in the upcoming thriller Bullet Train.
The Oscar-winning actress is the latest addition to the already star studded cast including Lady Gaga, Zazie Beetz (“Deadpool 2”), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kick-Ass”), Bad Bunny (“American Sole”) and Michael Shannon (“The Shape of Water”). This is the first time Bullock and Pitt have acted together on-screen.
“Bullet Train” is based on the popular Japanese novel Maria Beetle by bestselling author Kotaro Isaka. It follows five assassins who discover they are on the same high-speed bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka, and there are only a few stops during the journey. Soon they realize their missions have something in common.
Question is who will survive long enough to make it off the train. It is said that the Sony film will have the tone of Bullock’s 1994 movie “Speed” and Liam Neeson’s 2014 plane thriller “Non-Stop”.
The director of the film, David Leitch, who previously helmed the “Fast & Furious” spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw” is also supervising the script, which will be written by Zak Olkewicz (“Fear Street”).
“Bullet Train” marks Pitt’s first movie commitment since the 2019 “Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood”, for which he earned his first acting Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category.
Bullock was most recently seen in the Netflix thriller “Bird box” and has an untitled project with German director Nora Fingscheidt due later this year.
