Forum Hungary announced a monumental achievement for the Hungarian film industry with “Now or Never!” setting a new box office record.
The film, a historical adventure centered around Sándor Petőfi and the March Youth, attracted 75,551 viewers in Hungary, generating an income of 162,070,136 HUF in its first weekend.
This achievement signifies the highest revenue for a Hungarian movie since 1990 during its opening weekend, marking “Now or Never!” as the most successful Hungarian film in the post-COVID era in terms of initial weekend viewership.
Furthermore, “Now or Never!” recorded the second-highest earnings in 2024 so far, with only “Dune 2” having a better opening weekend in terms of ticket sales.
Creative producer Rákay Philip, on behalf of all the creators, expressed deep gratitude for the public’s interest and unprecedented affection. He highlighted the film’s widespread appeal among those who have seen it, urging everyone to trust their own eyes and experience the homage to Sándor Petőfi, Szendrey Júlia, and the March Youth firsthand.
