Production details
It has been confirmed that Marvel Studios will begin filming the six-episode long series in Budapest. Kevin Fiege reportedly stated this in an interview with The Companion: “On March 19, as you know “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will be debuting,” he followed up by saying that “June 11 will be the debut date for “Loki” and, of course, soon after that, we’ll have our first animated series, which is “What If …?.” We are finishing up “Ms. Marvel,” and we’re also shooting “Hawkeye” currently. In a few weeks, we start “She-Hulk,” and a week or so after that, we start “Moon Knight” in addition to our features.” So, this confirms that “Moon Knight” will be going into production sometime around the middle of April.
Location details
While Budapest is a beautiful city and has a ton of scenery to take in as a filmmaker. The only studio that supports the Hollywood standard of artistry is ORIGO Studios. Recently, “Dune” was shot there, before that Dennis Villenueve also shot “Blade Runner 2049” there. Other films such as “Atomic Blonde”, “Inferno”, “Gemini Man”, “Spy” and “47 Ronin” were also created by the help of Origo Studios, so that is our best bet for where Marvel will take the project.
The other location is in Atlanta back in the United States. We know this for a certainty that Marvel will create the series with the help of Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, GA. This is the prime location that Marvel prefers to shoot their series at. Their recent collaborations with Pinewood Studios include; “Loki”, “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and Winter Soldier”. There are also other series such as “Ms. Marvel”, “She Hulk” and “Hawkeye” that are most likely being shot here.
Marvel Studios’ president Mr. Kevin Fiege has stated that this series will merely be an introduction the character. Moon Knight’s role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be further expanded upon with cameos and collaborations with the rest of the characters going forward. Moon Knight has a confirmed run time of 40-50 minutes per episode, the first season will have six episodes to start off with. Moon Knight is expected to come out in mid 2022 if the scheduling doesn’t get delayed because of Covid.
