During the Xbox Games Showcase this month developers revealed a new free Dune-themed DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In order to get a better sense of the Dune world, head of Microsoft flight simulator Jorg Neumann and YouTuber-podcaster Parris Lilly traveled to ORIGO Studios, Budapest, one of the most important shooting locations of the film.
They met with the film’s Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette and toured the actual ornithopter prop which was used in the movie. They also discussed brinigng the fantasy flying machine to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The launch of the DLC will coincide with the November 3 theatrical release date of Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated “Dune: Part Two”. Microsoft Flight Simulator – Dune Expansion features Ornithopter missions set on the desert planet from the film and book series, Arrakis.
