This year’s Cannes International Film Festival includes a noteworthy entry in its La Cinef section—a student film titled “It’ll Pass”, created by Lithuanian director Dovydas Drakšas in London, which boasts contributions from multiple Hungarian film professionals.
The short film jury at Cannes (which runs from 15-25 May) this year is led by Belgian actress Lubna Azabal and includes French director-screenwriter-producer Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar, festival organizer Paolo Moretti, French producer-director Claudine Nougaret, and Serbian director-screenwriter Vladimir Perišić.
Featured among the 18 films in the Cannes’ La Cinef (formerly known as Cinéfondation) student film competition, “It’ll Pass” was developed at the London Film School. The project is highlighted by an international crew that includes four Hungarian filmmakers, according to an article by Filmtett.
The narrative of the short film revolves around 17-year-old Ada, who is forced to dismantle the mythical image she held of her father since childhood and rediscover the man beneath.
Directed and written by Drakšas, the film counts Tamás Méder as its cinematographer, László Dunai as editor, Tamás Jeszenszky as the on-site sound engineer, and Ádám Buruncz as the chief lighting technician.
