Hungarian stunt performer Gyula Tóth has won an Emmy for his work on HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, adding television’s most prestigious industry recognition to a career spanning several of the world’s largest screen franchises.

Tóth shared the Outstanding Stunt Performance award with Zach Roberts, Chris Cox and Jake Cox for the episode “In the Name of the Mother.” The Television Academy’s official results confirmed the four performers as winners during the 78th Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

The recognised sequence centres on the Trial of Seven, a brutal close-quarter confrontation involving fourteen fighters. Its physical storytelling, tightly coordinated combat and immersive camerawork placed the performers themselves at the centre of the episode’s spectacle.

As Budapest Reporter reported when Tóth entered the Emmy race, the Hungarian performer’s credits already extended across Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, the Dune films and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The wider Hungarian-linked field also included Marcell Rév, nominated for the cinematography of Euphoria, and the Hungary-shot Death by Lightning, which competed in four categories; Tóth was the only one to convert a nomination into a win.

His Emmy adds individual recognition to a career largely built through the collaborative and often less publicly visible work of major international stunt departments.
