In 2025, Hungary will host its first international workshop dedicated to sustainable filmmaking as Green Film Lab arrives in Budapest. Organized by the Torino Film Lab in partnership with JUNO11 and supported by the National Film Institute, the three-day program aims to introduce film professionals to eco-friendly production methods.
The workshop will offer practical guidance on how to integrate sustainability into all stages of filmmaking, from pre-production to post-production. As environmental concerns become increasingly relevant in the industry, the initiative seeks to provide concrete solutions for reducing a production’s carbon footprint while maintaining efficiency and quality. Participants will have the chance to learn from experts specializing in green production technologies and sustainable workflows.
Beyond the structured workshops, the event will also include free public lectures, making some of the discussions accessible to a wider audience. Organizers plan to release additional details on these sessions in the coming months. The Green Film Lab program not only highlights the growing importance of environmentally responsible filmmaking but also offers a networking platform for industry professionals looking to adopt greener production techniques.
For Hungarian filmmakers, this is the first opportunity to join an internationally recognized sustainability-focused training programwithin the country.
