The Day of the Jackal Season 2 to Return to Budapest for Filming

Season 2 of The Day of the Jackal is set to return to Budapest, with filming confirmed to take place in the Hungarian capital alongside additional locations in Croatia and London. The continuation of the Sky and Peacock thriller signals an ongoing commitment to Hungary as a key backdrop for high-end international productions.

Produced by Carnival Films, the contemporary reimagining of Frederick Forsyth’s classic novel stars Eddie Redmayne, who reprises his role as The Jackal, a professional assassin hired to kill the French President. Lashana Lynch also returns as Bianca, the determined law enforcement agent trying to stop him.

The showrunner remains Ronan Bennett, with Brian Kirk, Paul Wilmshurst, Anthony Philipson, and Anu Menon among the directors attached to the new season. Production services in Hungary will again be handled by Mid Atlantic Productions, as they were in Season 1.

The return to Budapest highlights the city’s continuing appeal to international series thanks to its skilled workforce, versatile locations, and favorable production infrastructure.
