The production of the Alien television series, another addition to Ridley Scott’s popular Alien franchise, is expected to begin this year.
According to our sources, the series will be shot in Thailand and Eastern Europe. This could very well mean Hungary, considering that the filming of the latest Alien movie is set to start in Budapest in a few weeks. Another good news for the fans of the franchise is that producers Ridley Scott, Jack Glascott, and Caitin Bruner managed to tap Noah Hawley, known for his work on the Fargo series, to write and direct the series.
Set not too far into our future, the series will present the first Alien story set on Earth — and by blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats.
The series will follow the story of Wendy, a hybrid human and essentially perfect being who has the mind of the 10-year-old Marcy who gave her consciousness to a brand-new body. She learns to wield her new body under Kirsh and human scientist dame Sylvia. She becomes a determined leader to other hybrids and forges the path of possibility tor a new era of elevated beings.
Another key character will be J.D. Hermit, a human medic for Prodigy Tactical Response, the private army of the Prodigy Corporation. More commonly known as Hermit he is a young man with a slightly anxious disposition and a good heart, struggling to find his way he mourns the loss at his entire family, often questioning whether he is cursed. In particular he yearns for the special connection that has been severed with his sister, the aforementioned Marcy, who he believes has died of cancer. He is lost, lonely and unsatisfied in his current job, kept gong only by his drive to help others. His dream of returning to medical school to fulfill the promise he made to his dying father is quashed. In the face of grave danger, we will see that Hermit has been grossly underestimated and he musters the strength to be the kind of hero he has always revered.
