The long-awaited sequel to “Lord of War”, considered to be one of Nicolas Cage’s finest movies, is about to commence shooting in Hungary and Morocco.
Entitled “Lords of War”, the film continues the story of international arms smuggler Yuri Orlov. The notorious gunrunner discovers that he has a son, named Anton, who isn’t trying to right his father’s wrongs — he’s trying to top them. Not only selling guns but the “trigger pullers” too, Anton is amassing a mercenary army to fight America’s Middle East conflicts. “Lords of War” is the story of Yuri and Anton’s bitter rivalry — even at odds over the same woman. Who will prevail when father and son go to war?
The film, written and directed by Andrew Niccol, is produced by Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi. While the full cast is not know at the moment, Nicolas Cage is set to return as Orlov, and Bill Skarsgård, the son of Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård who has already left his own mark in show business by playing Pennywise in “It” among other horror roles, is set to star as Anton.
