The audience received the very first photo of Crown’s Diana and Charles while Spencer starring with Kristen Stewart got its release date.

“Tenet” actor Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana and “The Affair”‘s Dominic West will be Prince Charles for the royal drama’s final two seasons. Netflix on Tuesday released the first images of Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and Dominic West as Prince Charles for “The Crown”.

Debicki, an Australian actor who starred in “Tenet” and “The Night Manager”, takes over the role from Emma Corrin for the final two seasons of the royal drama. West, who is known for his roles in “The Wire” and “The Affair”, takes over the role from Josh O’Connor for seasons 5 and 6.

The show’s fourth season ended with an already unhappy Diana who was struggling to fit in with the royal family while grappling with an eating disorder and her troubled marriage to Charles. Both are shown having extramarital affairs. The last two seasons of The Crown are expected to depict Charles and Diana’s divorce as well as the public revelation of his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

The show is also expected to cover Diana’s tragic death as well as the deaths of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, the queen’s sister. Last month, Netflix released the first look of Harry Potter actor Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II.“Game of Thrones” actor Jonathan Pryce will portray Prince Philip, taking over from Tobias Menzies, while Lesley Manville will portray Margaret, who was previously played by Helena Bonham Carter.

This year, “The Crown”, along with “The Mandalorian”, leads the Emmy nominations with 24 nods each, including one for the Outstanding Drama Series. That’s not the only new movie/series about the Royal Family though.

Pablo Larrain’s biographical drama “Spencer,” starring Kristen Stewart, is coming to theaters in November. The movie, from Neon and Topic Studios, will premiere in competition at the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals alongside “Dune”, which was partly shot in Hungary.

Originally expected to debut in 2022 to mark the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death, “Spencer” will hit theaters on November 5, primed for an awards-season push. Marvel’s “The Eternals” from Chloé Zhao and Tom Hanks’ sci-fi pic “Finch” are set to launch on the same day.

Stewart stars as the late Princess Diana (born Diana Frances Spencer) in the movie, written by “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight. The drama takes place during a few days over the Christmas holiday in 1991 at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England when Diana decides to end her marriage to Prince Charles.

“Spencer” was produced by Juan de Dios Larraín for Fabula Films, Jonas Dornbach and Janine Jackowski for Komplizen Film, and Paul Webster for Shoebox Films. The release date announcement comes on the same day that Netflix released the first look at Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana in “The Crown” Season 5.
