The upcoming feature film Alpha Gang, written and directed by David and Nathan Zellner, is expected to begin filming in Budapest in the second quarter of 2025. This project, combining science fiction and dark comedy, follows a group of alien invaders disguised as a 1950s leather-clad biker gang sent to conquer Earth. Their mission derails when they unexpectedly fall prey to the most dangerous human condition: emotion.
The ensemble cast is headlined by Cate Blanchett, Dave Bautista, Steven Yeun, Zoë Kravitz, Léa Seydoux, Riley Keough, and Channing Tatum. The project’s cinematography will be overseen by Mike Gioulakis, recognized for his distinctive visual style.
Behind the scenes, a wide network of producers are involved, including Ryan Zacarias, Coco Francini, Gina Gammell, Mary Aloe, Andrea Bucko, Sean Krajewski, Ronnie Exley, and Lawrence Minicone, among others.
A variety of production companies are collaborating on Alpha Gang, such as Aloe Entertainment, Dirty Films Productions, Felix Culpa, Rabbits Black, Electric Void, Raised by Wolves Pictures, Sugar Rush Pictures, Partners in Kind, Fat City, and France’s MK2 Films. International sales for the film are being handled by CAA Media Finance, reinforcing the project’s global ambitions.
With Budapest selected as a key filming hub, the production underlines Hungary’s continued attraction for international film shoots, highlighting the country’s infrastructure and growing reputation in the industry.
