Hungarian films rarely get this weird, so we are not sure if we should be excited or skeptical about the upcoming movie.
“Cicaverzum” (“Kittyverse”) tells the story of the thirty-year-old Fáni (Franciska Törőcsik), who has long given up on love because of her past experiences. One day however, a black cat (voiced by Márton Patkós) starts courting her. Despite being a successful architect, she falls for the charming cat, even though she is the only person who can hear the cat’s voice. Their unusual romance takes interesting turns, until the cat pushes Fáni to a point where she almost loses everything.
Rozália Szeleczki‘s first feature film is co-written with poet Zsófi Kemény. In addition to the two main characters already mentioned, Dorottya Udvaros, Adél Csobot and Róbert Alföldi will also appear in the film.
“Cicaverzum” is expected to be released in Hungarian cinemas in the first half of 2023. The first teaser is only available in Hungarian, but these images definitely speak for themselves:
