Now it’s official, the epic sci-fi sequel will be filmed in Hungary. Next year the actors of Dune will be back in the Hungarian capital!
The film adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s 1965 novel rocked the world in October. Starring Timothée Chalamet, the movie just smashed the box-office charts, yet – one could say – it didn’t quite satisfy all the demands of its audience.
And why not? Because Denis Villeneuve was only willing to make the sci-fi classic if he could divide the 600-page book in halves and make two films out of it.
And how right he was! Surely, the general public would not have been treated with such a detailed and all-encompassing film if Villeneuve had ‘slapped’ the whole book together and condensed it into one film.
The film that has been hailed as the movie of the decade has certainly earned that title because, after all the waiting, we could watch a film that most of us can say was worth the wait.
As soon as the first part was released, social media exploded because of the news that the second part will also be materialized soon. Most of the cast and the director have announced a sequel to Dune.
BREAKING: The sequel to Dune has been announced along with the release date!
And now it is official: the second part will be shot in Hungary.
It is planned that the entire cast will return to Hungary, to ORIGO Studios in order to continue what they have started, presumably with Zendaya having the main role – let’s face it: she has a much bigger role in the second half of the book than in the first one.
