The Rings of Power (Amazon Prime, 1 September)
The latest addition to the popular The Lord of the Rings franchise comes in the form of a series set thousands of years before the One Ring was destroyed at Mount Doom. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters as they confront the re-emergence of evil to Middle-Earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, the series tells the story of kingdoms and remarkable characters who carved out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

Elvis (HBO Max, 2 September)
The biggest rock ‘n’ roll star of all time needs no introduction. Director Baz Luhrmann’s spectacular film showcases more than 20 momentous years in the legend’s life, with a focus on Elvis Presley’s complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The musical biopic follows the singer’s rise from a poor southern boy to a superstar filling the biggest arenas across the United States, with Austin Butler, who plays Elvis, even singing some of the songs himself in a convincing, charismatic way. The story itself is told from the perspective of Parker, on his deathbed recalling the defining moments of Elvis’ career.

Thor: Love and Thunder (Disney+, 8 September)
Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love and Thunder” finds the God of Thunder on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – one of self-discovery. But his efforts are interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on an adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Andor (Disney+, 21 September)
The Andor series sets out to explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. Andor brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved.
