Origo Studios participated as an honorary guest at a celebration marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, using the occasion to underline the long-standing cultural and cinematic ties between Hungary and the United States.
As part of the event, the studio presented a special exhibition of Hungarian Hollywood-related memorabilia. The display paid tribute to Hungarian filmmakers, producers, artists and creative pioneers whose work helped shape the history, language and global influence of the American film industry.
The celebration also served as an international meeting point for the studio. Márta Fekszi, CEO of Origo Studios, met with Caroline Savage, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the Embassy of the United States in Hungary, as well as with Péter Magyar, Prime Minister of Hungary.
During the event, Horváthné Dr. Fekszi Márta and Prime Minister Péter Magyar discussed the strategic importance of filmmaking, international film production, and Hungary’s increasingly significant position in the global film industry. As a continuation of the meeting, Prime Minister Magyar was invited to visit Origo Studios, where the studio’s role as a leading European production hub and the opportunities created by international film partnerships can be presented in greater detail.
“Hollywood is not only an American success story; in many ways, it is also a Hungarian story,” said Márta Fekszi, CEO of Origo Studios. “Hungarian filmmakers, producers and creative pioneers helped lay the foundations of the global film industry. Today, at Origo Studios, we are proud to carry that legacy forward by welcoming major international productions to Hungary and by building bridges between Hungarian talent and the world.”
The event highlighted the close relationship between Hungary and the United States in filmmaking, with the shared history of Hollywood continuing to act as a cultural link between the two countries. U.S. Embassy leadership has also emphasized on several occasions that Hollywood’s story is deeply connected to Hungarian creativity, ambition and innovation.
For Origo Studios, the participation underscored a dual commitment: preserving the legacy of Hungarian talent in Hollywood while supporting the future of international filmmaking in Hungary. As one of the region’s leading film production facilities, the studio remains focused on providing world-class infrastructure, expertise and creative partnership for productions from the United States and around the world.
