Amadeus Series Unveils First-Look Images, Featuring Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany

Amadeus, its upcoming limited series reimagining the iconic rivalry between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. The show stars Will Sharpe (The White Lotus, Too Much) as Mozart and Paul Bettany (WandaVision) as Salieri.

Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin) also stars as Constanze Weber, Mozart’s devoted wife. The series is written by Joe Barton (Black Doves) and draws inspiration from Peter Shaffer’s acclaimed stage play, aiming to expand and reinterpret the complex dynamic between the two composers.

Salieri is portrayed as both hero and villain, depending on perspective—a loyal servant of the musical establishment whose envy leads him down a path of sabotage and vengeance as Mozart’s brilliance threatens his own place in court.

Directed by Julian Farino (Giri/Haji) and Alice Seabright (Chloe), Amadeus is produced by Two Cities Television in association with Sky Studios. Executive producers include Barton, Sharpe, Bettany, Farino, Megan Spanjian, Michael Jackson, Stephen Wright, and John Griffin.

The production was partially filmed in Hungary, including scenes shot at the Hungarian State Opera, adding authenticity to the period setting. International distribution will be handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios.
