Twitter absolutely exploded after hearing the news, as in theory, a make-up artist working with the actors leaked the title for the latest Matrix film, which will run as, Matrix: Resurrections.
The Title certainly fits the style of the previous sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. However, it should be noted that “The” doesn’t appear before the title. Perhaps they’ve followed the advice of Facebook’s „critiques” and removed it to make the title cleaner.
The Matrix has grown into an epoch-making work and has literally inscribed itself in film history. The first part was released in 1999 and was a huge success with both viewers and critics, followed by the two sequels in 2003, which were very divisive. However, the trilogy has grown into a pop cultural mandatory film, and as we can see, more than 20 years after the first film, the 4th part is coming out.
The film will be released in cinemas at the end of the year, in December, and at the same time on HBO Max. What we can take for granted already, is that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return to the film as Neo and Trinity. According to IMDb, Barney Stinson’s Neil Patrick Harris will also be a part of the work.
