March is finally here, bringing about not only some more tolerable temperatures, but also new instalments in several fan favorite franchises. Here’s our selection for the third month of 2023.
The Mandalorian Season 3 (1 March, Disney+)
The third season of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian is one of the highlights of the month. The title character, a lone gunfighter making his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy, is once again played by Pedro Pascal, who rapidly ascended to the circle of A-list stars in the recent years. In this season, the Mandalorian travels to Mandalore to redeem his past transgressions with his companion Grogu. The season is produced by Lucasfilm, Fairview Entertainment, andGolem Creations, with Jon Favreau serving as showrunner.

Scream VI (10 March)
In the sixth installment of the Scream series of slasher films, the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings: sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks are leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York City only to again be plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer. Fans of Scream should be excited about the return of original franchise writer and creator Kevin Williamson as executive producer. The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, all reprising their roles from previous installments.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (18 March)
Directed by David Sandberg, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is set to become the latest addition to the DC Comics cinematic universe. As a sequel to Shazam!, the film will see Billy Batson (Zachary Levi and Asher Angel) and his foster siblings, who transform into superheroes by saying “Shazam!”, get forced back into action to fight the Daughters of Atlas. A lot will be at stake in this movie, as the superheroes will need to stop their adversaries from using a powerful weapon which could destroy the entire world.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (24 March)
Keanu Reeves is also set to grace the silver screen in March, returning as legendary hitman John Wick. In the fourth instalment of John Wick, the title character, burdened by the ever-increasing price on his head, will take his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin. The rest of the cast is also impressive including renowned actors such as Lance Reddick, Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Bill Skarsgård.
