Prime Video is set to release “Secret Level,” a new anthology series that blends the vibrant worlds of classic and modern video games into animated short stories. Created by Tim Miller and Dave Wilson, known for their work on “Love, Death + Robots,” the series features 15 episodes inspired by games like “God of War,” “Mega Man,” and “Pac-Man.”
A standout contributor to the series is DIGIC, a leading Hungarian animation studio with a rich history in video game cinematics and previous “Love, Death + Robots” episodes. DIGIC’s involvement includes crafting four of the anthology’s episodes, specifically working on adaptations of “Armored Core,” “Honor of Kings,” “PlayStation” (featuring multiple franchise), and “Sifu.” Their work on the series is complemented by their expertise from creating cinematics for top gaming franchises, including the latest title, “Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.”
DIGIC expressed their enthusiasm about the project, stating: “We loved working on the LDR project because it offered so many creative challenges, and after that, the opportunity to work on Secret Level was incredibly exciting. We’re especially proud that we’re responsible for four of the 15 episodes—each world is vastly different, and we love them all for different reasons. We can’t wait for the public to finally see what we’ve been working on over the past period of time!”
Secret Level will premiere on December 10, 2024, on Prime Video, inviting gamers and animation enthusiasts alike to experience their favorite games like never before. The series not only pays homage to the games that have shaped popular culture but also showcases the innovative artistry of studios worldwide, pushing the boundaries of animated storytelling.
