“We’re rolling. Production on ‘Dune: Part Two’ has begun”, says the official Twitter page of Dune, marking the start of the production phase of Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sci-fi masterpiece.
The cast of the sequel has grown immensely in the past weeks when it was announced that Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler and Léa Seydoux are joining the film. The cast was expected to arrive in Budapest on July 21st after a short pre-shooting in Altivole, Italy, but production actually started on the 18th at ORIGO Studios – the location where the first movie was filmed.
If anyone likes celebrity spotting this will surely be the time and the place – we already have some pictures!
Austin Butler – who recently gave an incredible performance in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” – will appear in the role of Feyd-Rautha, a deadly Harkonnen assassin, who will most definitely cause some trouble to Paul Atreides. The actor was spotted on the streets of Budapest last week:

Florence Pugh will play one of the Emperor’s daughters in the upcoming movie. Sure enough, there is already a photo of her circling the Internet in full princess-style:

And of course, we couldn’t be certain that “Dune: Part Two” truly started filming without seeing our favorite director Denis Villeneuve sitting in a café on the streets of Budapest:
